OSRAM Decostar Multispot:
One luminaire - many options
MUNICH - If there were scientific tests to measure versatility this luminaire would undoubtedly come out top. The new Decostar Multispot halogen system luminaire from Osram can be installed and used in so many places. It is designed for strip lighting but can also be fitted as a single high-intensity unit. The luminaires can be joined together to form strip lighting or creative lighting structures.
Versatile in its use
It can be used in the home and throughout the commercial sector. In the domestic environment this new development is ideal for providing background lighting in corridors, for spotlighting pictures and ornaments and for attaching to furniture. It offers effective accent lighting on ceilings throughout the home and also in offices, conference rooms and doctors’ practices where it is ideal for creating an impression of quality. Retail outlets looking for high-quality accent lighting are also well served by lighting solutions based on Decostar Multispot. And it acts as an architectural element in large rooms if used as part of an overall luminaire structure.
Simple installation
Specially developed for system installation, this prewired luminaire is easy to install straight from the packaging. The accessories supplied with the luminaire include end pieces that are to be used if it is to be fitted as a separate unit. The angled end pieces supplied can be combined so that the luminaires can be easily assembled into L, T or X arrangements. Brackets ensure that the luminaires are fitted at the correct angle. If the luminaires are to be installed as strip lighting the round end pieces are simply replaced by an axial connector so that the luminaires can be joined to one another.
The entire installation process is simplicity itself. Our designers have thought of everything, including an adjustable fastening plate with a T slot for quickly aligning and fixing the luminaire to a wall or ceiling. The luminaire is connected to the power supply via the connecting cable supplied, which is routed through the luminaire casing, held in place by cable clips and connected to a terminal block. Instead of the costly and time-consuming task of installing an appropriate number of transformers and metres of power rails, as is the case with separate spotlights, there is just one transformer to install for a Decostar Multispot (Halotronic HT 120/230 - 240/12 LF).
The compact luminaire heads are made from heat-resistant plastic so you can rotate them through 180° and tilt them through 90°. The luminaire is available as an N version (for connection to the mains) complete with an integrated switch and mains cable. An F version (for fixed connection) is available for use in strip lighting or luminaire structures.
These dimmable batten luminaires come in white/light grey and black/mid grey, are just 25 mm high and are therefore ideal even for low ceilings. There are available in lengths of 775 mm with two LV Decostar Titan 35 W halogen lamps and 1175 mm with three of these dichroic reflector lamps. The special features of these lamps are their extremely long life of 4000 hours, excellent distribution of light, constant colour impression, reliable UV protection and reduced heat in the light beam.
The new Decostar Multispot halogen system luminaire from Osram is so versatile it can be used in so many different ways - as background lighting in corridors, for spotlighting pictures and ornaments and for attaching to furniture. It is ideal for providing prestige lighting in offices, conference rooms and retail outlets.
