Osram recalls 2900 Halolux HC 60W halogen lamps
Osram is recalling HALOLUX HC, 230 V, 60 W halogen lamps. A total of 2900 lamps sold in Germany, France, Austria, Italy and Poland since April 2004 are affected. The lamps were sold singly in blister packs, with bar code 40 50 300 588476 on the packaging.
Quality controls established that on some of these lamps the outer bulb may become detached from the base. In worst case conditions, there is a possibility that anyone replacing such lamps may come into contact with live parts. Osram has therefore decided to withdraw all the lamps from this product batch. No other lamps are affected. Consumers who have bought any of these lamps since April can return the lamps directly to Osram at: OSRAM GmbH Steinerne Furt 62 D-86167 Augsburg Germany They will be replaced free of charge. Before removing the lamp, make sure the power is switched off. Consumers can phone a hotline for more information. The hotline number (for Austria, Germany and France: 00800 01377748 / for Poland: 0602 - 115086 / for Italy: 800 013 493) can be dialled from Monday, May 10.
