Compact and safe solution for open luminaires

Powerball HCI-TX/P by OSRAM is the smallest high intensity discharge lamp with explosion protection

The new OSRAM Powerball HCI-TX/P high intensity discharge lamp with a round ceramic burner is very safe thanks to its explosion protection. The lamp is therefore ideally suited for high-quality lighting in shops, restaurants or hotels where luminaires are frequently open. The efficient and durable lamp additionally offers excellent colour rendering.

The newly developed Powerball HCI-TX/P is the smallest high intensity discharge lamp with explosion protection on the market. Its "twist & lock" base makes lamp replacement very easy and also allows for the precise positioning inside the reflector, thus ensuring optimum light distribution.

With a light output of up to 100 lm/W, the lamp is highly efficient and available in 35 and 70 Watt versions. This allows the very economical operation of light installations using the Powerball HCI-TX/P. The discharge lamp is approved for electronic control gear (ECG) and operates at greatest efficiency with Powertronic PTi by OSRAM. Its average lifespan of 12,000 hours stands for low maintenance costs, ultimately also reflected in low operating costs.

Thanks to the explosion protection of the HCI-TX/P, luminaires do not need to be fitted with a protective screen for safety reasons, thus making maintenance and cleaning a lot easier.

Ideal for the presentation of goods

A strong argument in favour of using these luminaires in shops is their very good colour rendering index between 93 and 96, resulting in a realistic rendition of colours. The soft light of the HCI-TX/P lamp also protects colours and materials thanks to the lower emission of UV radiation compared with conventional discharge lamps in closed luminaires.
